- Distinguishing Feature:
- There is no difficulty in distinguishing the adult male by its unique violet-colored abdomen, quite different to the red of chrysis and testaceum.

- The males are spectacular insects with red abdominal segments. The thorax is black, legs are black, wings are transparent, pterostigma black. The spotted pair from Sylhet, was mating in the reeds associated to the streams.
